1 drain left...

I saw Dr. Mistry today and she said everything looks great! Things are healing the way they should and on schedule. She took all but one drain, which I am happy with. Having just the one drain allows me to wear my own clothes and to feel a little more normal. I see her again on Friday and I will probably get rid of my last drain (YAY!) and we will start the filling process of my expander. It is really interesting how that works. It is basically a balloon that she placed beneath my skin and muscle, basically where the implant will go, that has a port on the end of it. She uses the port to access the balloon with a syringe and will fill it with saline slowly about every two weeks. She is estimating that it should be filled to capacity in about 3 months. Once that is complete we will wait 3-4 months for everything to heal and then go in again and place the implant and also touch up the other side. I am so looking forward to the end result. So far, it is amazing and I am really impressed with her work and the care that she is giving me.
We have been getting some very delicious meals and beautiful cards and flowers! Thank you all so much for your support. Our little family continues to get on everyday seamlessly because of this. You are all such blessings in our lives!!
